The gifts of the Holy Spirit are Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Knowledge, Fortitude, Piety, and Fear of God. But its greatest gift just might be Awe.
In his final hours, Jesus prayed that his disciples be made one, as he was one with the Father. He also prayed that they be prepared for their ministry to the world, a world that would ultimately reject them.
When Jesus was preparing to leave his disciples, he wanted to leave them with something to hold on to. For three years, he has been their rabbi, mentor, teacher and friend. He knew that soon he would be leaving them. What could he give them to hold on to after he was gone?
